Cruise Staff Hosts and participates in shipboard recreational, entertainment and social programs geared towards adults and families. Serves as master of ceremonies to motivate, inform and entertain small and large groups of guests throughout their cruise vacation.
Cruise ship workers provide services to passengers on cruise ships. Besides assisting in the operation of the ship, they may serve food and drinks, maintain cabins and public areas, lead shipboard activities, and provide entertainment.
People working in the deck department include deckhands, maintenance workers, engineers, and officers. It is their job to motor or sail the ship, attend to the physical maintenance needs of the ship, and keep it in accordance with fleet regulations and international maritime laws.
Cruise Staff Job Responsibilities
Ability to capture and manage the attention of a large group of people using effective and courteous microphone techniques
Completion of high school or basic education equivalency
One to two years master of ceremonies or professional entertainment (theatre, music, dance, comedy, etc.) experience with resorts, cruise lines, entertainment or recreational industries is preferred
Excellent verbal and written command of the English language, knowledge of another language(s) is a plus
Superior customer service, teambuilding and conflict resolution skills
Must be professional, polished and guest service oriented
Ability to capture and manage the attention of a large group of people with microphone effective and courteous microphone techniques. Experience on a microphone required.
Ability to provide basic instruction to a large group of people.
Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required.
Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software basic packages.
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.
All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable
Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.
